Join individuals across Maryland in a competition to collect and properly dispose of most litter in your community! Help protect the planet, and maybe pick up a state title on the way!
Rules and Regulations:
Open to all Maryland residents
Trash must be collected from public or permitted spaces only.
Use standard 13-gallon kitchen trash bags (or equivalent).
Each cleanup site must have:
Before photo – showing the litter clearly.
After photo – same location, visibly cleaned, with collected bags in frame.
Bags must come from actual cleanup sites , not random bags of trash from unrelated source
Safety first: wear gloves, closed-toe shoes, and avoid hazardous materials.
Winners determined by total number of bags collected with clear before/after proof. Tie-breaker: most distinct cleanup sites visited.
Example of an Accepted Submission:
Take a picture of the area you’re cleaning before you clean it (Try your best to capture the trash as well as possible!)
Take a picture of the area you cleaned up after you finish cleaning it. (Try to capture as much area you cleaned up as possible!)
Take a picture of the trash in a trash bag (disposed of correctly)
Check who the top 3 users with the
